# The Slide Block: Place Your Carousel Content Exactly Where You Want

A carousel is only as good as the panels inside it. The Slide block is where each one gets its background, its spacing, and — the part that makes or breaks a hero — exactly where the words sit.

## A carousel where every panel sits differently

You build a hero slider, drop in three background photos, and every headline lands dead-centre in the frame — right over the busiest part of the image. On one slide the text vanishes into a bright sky; on the next it collides with a face. Fixing it means hand-writing CSS positions for each slide, and the whole thing breaks the moment someone resizes the window.

The Slide block is the panel inside a Slider, and placement is exactly what it owns. Each slide decides where its own content sits — top or bottom, left or right — and how wide that content runs, independently of the slides on either side.

Vertical placement — top, middle or bottom. Drop the headline into the lower third over a busy photo, or float it dead-centre on a plain colour.

Horizontal placement — left, centre or right. The same content hugs the left edge on one slide and sits centred on the next, with no CSS.

Content max width — hold the text to a readable column even when the slide runs edge to edge, so lines never stretch the full width of a wide screen.

Plus a per-slide background, padding and the gap between stacked blocks — so every panel dresses itself.

Setting up a slide takes about a minute. Add one inside your Slider, type a heading, then use the two alignment controls in the sidebar to move the content wherever it reads best. The preview shifts as you click — no CSS, no per-slide stylesheet, nothing to remember.

## See the Slide block place its content

Every panel below is a Slide inside a live Slider — the same block, configured differently each time. Let it auto-advance, or steer it with the arrows and dots.

**Same slider, three placements.** One panel pins its words to the bottom-left, the next centres them, the third sits them top-right — nothing else changes between them.

### Bottom-left

This slide pins its content to the lower-left corner — room for a logo up top, the message down here.

### Dead centre

Same block, same slider. This one drops its content into the exact middle — the classic hero placement.

### Top-right

And this one sits its words up in the top-right, clear of a subject on the left of the photo behind it.

**Wide slide, narrow column.** Both panels centre their content, but the first holds it to a tight, readable width while the second lets the very same text run full-bleed.

### Held to 420px

The content max-width keeps this paragraph in a calm, readable column. Even on a wide screen the lines stay short enough to scan comfortably, exactly like body copy should.

### Full-bleed width

Remove the max-width and the very same paragraph spreads across the whole slide. On a wide monitor the lines run long and the eye has to work harder to find where the next one begins.

## Ready to build a slider that actually reads?

The Slide block ships inside Flexa Block. Install the plugin and it’s waiting in the editor — right where you add slides to a Slider.
